It’s been over a year since our last update and we’d like to provide some transparency on why the project has been so quiet. During our testing of the original CrewLink beta, we ran into the same issues affecting the typical ACARS found today: Performance. Running flight simulators requires having as many computing resources as possible to ensure a smooth and visually appealing experience. Having an ACARS alongside should not impede that experience and we…

It’s hard to believe that Oasis is already 2 years old! With Oasis 3.0 on the horizon, we’re preparing for some incredible changes to how our organization functions. Today, we use an “all-or-nothing” approach for approving or denying PIREPs. The issue with this method is flights are tossed out entirely due to a single point of failure. It’s frustrating to complete an 8-hour CTP flight, have a bad landing, and forfeit any progress towards the next…

We are excited to announce that our MacOS compatible ACARS system has been tested and found to be ready to release. This will only work on native X-Plane 11. Make sure you check your downloads page on IOC for the link. Reminder: It may take some time before the download is actually published on our servers, but keep an eye out! Thanks for growing with our community! The AAVIrtual Team!

The AAVirtual Team has been hard at work to offer our ACARS product on MacOS devices for X-Plane 11. We are excited to announce that we are planning a release date as soon as we finish testing the product. Be on the lookout for the stable release in the coming weeks. When we release, expect download and user instructions to follow. Thanks for being a part of AAVirtual! Blue Skies and Tailwinds, The AAVIrtual Team

AAvirtual is excited to welcome the InfiniteFlight community. This has been our most requested feature over the past year. We’ll feature a full network-based ACARS with many features that users of traditional simulators enjoy. We’re working hard to integrate InfiniteFlight with all of AAvirtual’s systems and we’re expecting a launch late this Spring. We’ll share more on this exciting announcement in the coming weeks, including the opportunity to become a Beta tester.

More Additions to OA Trips! Over the summer we launched our popular OA Trips feature, during that initial release we added some select airlines we thought our members would enjoy and that our Pilot+ subscribers requested! Today we are launching additional airlines so you can explore more of the world! We have deeply focused on AAs core partners around the world, and some smaller local ones that you can operate interline with! Airlines Launching Today…

What an amazing year we have had at AAvirtual! From the very beginning, we have seen more engagement from our membership than ever before. Our Leadership Team has enjoyed every minute of building, sharing and helping our community. As we approach the halfway mark of the final quarter of 2020, it is time that we begin evaluating our goals for next year. The largest portion of data that we analyze comes directly from our membership’s…

This October, we’re partnering with the Susan G. Komen foundation with a goal of raising over $1,000 to save lives and end breast cancer forever. Breast cancer is a disease that affects 1 in 8 women during their lifetime. As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease. This isn’t a typical fundraiser.…

Today AAvirtual and AAV Group announce a light “refresh” of the AAvirtual logo and look. With this new logo and color pallet, we begin the process of aligning AAvirtual’s various logos, websites, and systems to look and feel more alike. While this is a very minimal change for most people we are excited none the less!

Happy August everyone! We hope you’ve been staying safe, keeping you hands washed, and wearing a mask. We have received hundreds of questions regarding FS2020, more specifically AAvirtual’s compatibility with it. The short answer is yes, we will support FS2020, but not immediately. Even though CrewLink is making tremendous progress in Beta, we still rely on TFDI’s SmartCARS for automated reporting. Until CrewLink is released, our support for FS2020 will rely directly on TFDI’s ability…
